Mesa County is located on the western slope of Colorado. The valley, consisting of Grand Junction,
Fruita, Clifton and Palisade, is surrounded by three distinctive mountains. The Monument, the Mesa, and the
Bookcliffs, are all picturesque locations and each offers its own unique attractions for the outdoor enthusiast.
Local cultural events and activities abound, with many choices of entertainment and learning. There are many
fine restaurants and several local wineries. You can visit museums on local history as well as dinosaur exhibits
from local dinosaur finds. We have a local dinner theater cabaret, Mesa State College theater, as well as
the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra.
As you probably already know, Colorado has some of the best skiing in the world. All of the best resorts are at
most a half a days drive. Two great ski resorts, Sunlight and Powderhorn, are within an hour and a half away in
Glenwood Springs and on the Mesa respectively.
